So I asked Laura to marry me yesterday. We drove out to Joshua Tree national park while we were visiting in Los Angeles. We went up on top of  the Little San Bernardino Mountains and I launched my plan to ask her. I gave her a hardcover Fellowship of the Rings book which had been hollowed out. Inside I had placed her ring inside a little envelope that said “One Ring To Bind Them”. I got down on one knee and asked and she replied “Yes, yes, of course!”

I guess I could have been wearing elf ears, then it would have been a little dorkier. :) See the photo below to see the book, inside and ring!

One Vintage Ring to Bind Us. I Don't think Sauron would be rocking this style though.

Just uploaded the photos from the shoot the other day, before I bit the dirt. You can find the complete gallery at the bottom of the article below.

In case you missed it on Conspyer, here is my con in review:

One happy customer?

So here we are again.  Back in Chattanooga.

I told one person at Con Nooga that I am in Chattanooga so much I need to buy a second house there.  Con Nooga has always been a lot of fun and this year was no exception.  Paul and I were the Artist Guests of Honor, so we got to design the poster for this year’s event.  It is always cool to see my work on t-shirts, program books, and con badges.  Plus everyone seemed to really respond well to my Frankencthulhu.  Friday was the normal set up where we sit around all day in the Dealers Room, but a great thing about Con Nooga is the wide assortment of products and dealers in the room!  You can follow this link to see a short list of some of the vendors from this year’s show.  After the exhibitor hall closed, Paul and I joined some of our other artist friends in a panel about Artist Alleys.  We tried mugging a few of the people as they walked in, but were quickly informed that the panel is about artists who work in the “artist alleys” at conventions.  Leave it to us to get things wrong.  It was a nice assortment of people, like horror artists Billy Tackett and Sam Flegal and fantasy artist Mark Helwig. We gave attendees a look at what it takes to be an artist, how to make a name for yourself, and general survival tips for the modern day art maker.

Ok, so here are the costumes I am hoping to make for this year:

The post apocalyptic costume should be fun, I just need to age some clothing and make a cool weapon. I am torn between using the leather jacket I am wearing in the photo, or using this really cool brown duster that Laura made me. I might play with both designs.

Old Republic Smuggler – Star Wars the Old Republic is bad ass. Basically get to make a Han Solo costume, except based on my character in the game. You can’t beat that with a gaffi stick. I already ordered some boots and a military jacket to modify.

Khal Drogo – This will be the hardest because I have to grow 5 inches. Actually no, the working out to get this buff would be even harder. Well either way, I need to do this costume so there are no other Drogo’s hanging all over my lady :)

I will be posting progress pictures as I go along.

So I need the followers of Aradani Studios to help me out! I wrote a level 7 Pathfinder /DnD 3.5 module and I need some people to beta test it. Follow the link below to download and shoot me an email at mike_at_aradani.com to let me know you are beta testing it. Most of all – shoot me an email when you finish and let me know what you think of it!

The module is made for 4-6 level 7 characters. It comes with 4 premade heroes so you can jump right in to the fray! Follow the link below to download the pdf.

The Tomb of Kochun – 7th level pathfinder adventure beta.

One of my masks which was made for a performance piece is now up for sale on Aradani Costumes, click the image below to check it out!

After BSG, what could a sexy cylon do for a living? Get a Mortal Kombat style blade and start killing I guess. Everythings seems wrong about this movie, but I still have to see it.

Why? Wait til the end. Chainsaw.

so i guess i was wrong, it seems this is a black keys video… but still. chainsaw.

I am not sure where this is from, but man, I want to watch this from beginning to end. I mean if you are going to go all out and have things not quite make sense, this is the way robots should destroy everything.

Added some information on how I made a mount to have my disk on my jacket. Costume version 1.0 almost ready for Chattacon!
