I finally got around to uploading the images of our Tron Photoshoot from Dragoncon 2011. They were taken by our friends over at Duoshot.com! There you can see the 3D versions as well as order prints.

So here is the new Tron Disk Holder prototype that I sculpted and Paul sanded and polished. We are unsure whether we should keep the small cut out on the bottom, but we also plan to do another style with the ring cut out so it is exactly like the movie.
The new version should be available in the next few weeks.
You don’t have the visit the article, its getting pretty long, so I will post the whole update here.
A.G.D Program 1.5 February 15th 2011
I have been working on the disk holders and modding the disks the past week. After a long time experimenting and way too many purchased (and unsatisfactory) lights, I got my disk in better shape for the upcoming con. It has a 5mm EL Red Wire in the inner C Ring and the outer ring has 2 feet of high intensity LED lights. It has two switches so I can have the c ring and outer ring light up separately.
For those of you trying to make a Tron Legacy Costume, we now off a generic holder that will mount the official Identity Disk to any garment. It comes in a default gray color (we can make it white too if people ask), but it can be painted any color you like!
Added some information on how I made a mount to have my disk on my jacket. Costume version 1.0 almost ready for Chattacon!
If you want a really bright and somewhat less delicate Tron costume, this man has figured out how to make one out of silicone encapsulated LEDs.
In my plans I am going to be working with EL tape, but we will see if that was a bad mistake in a couple of weeks.
Here is the instructable on how to make a LED Tron shirt:
thanks again to brian for the heads up.
Want to start out a little smaller than a full on black leather outfit with glowing accents? Here’s a DIY on making your own Tron style bag. It got some pictures and a great video walking you through each part. Looks pretty cool, and nothing says cyberpunk like the right type of accessories. Click the picture below to find the article.
thanks to brian for the link!
